Terms of use
These terms set out the rules for using the Global 100 Forum at forum.global100.org. By reading or posting on the forum you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the forum.
Who can use the forum
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or post. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account and devices secure, because they are how you sign in.
What you agree to when you post
You are responsible for what you post. When you post, you confirm that you have the right to share the content, that it does not break the law, and that it follows the posting guidelines. Do not post other people's private information, content you do not have permission to share, or anything designed to deceive, harass or harm.
Licence to your content
You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give the forum a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and distribute your post as part of the forum, including in search results, feeds and archives. This licence continues for posts that remain on the forum after you delete your account, which is why deleted accounts show as "former member". You can delete your own posts at any time, which ends the licence for those posts except for copies in backups that expire after 90 days.
Information, not advice
Threads on the forum discuss detection tools, research and policy. They are general information, not legal, academic or professional advice. Detection results are probabilistic, and nothing on this forum should be used as the sole basis for accusing or disciplining anyone. If you face a decision with real consequences, such as an academic misconduct case, get advice specific to your situation.
Moderation
We may edit, hide or remove content, and suspend or close accounts, when content breaks these terms or the posting guidelines. We try to explain removals and offer an appeal, but we may act without notice when a post puts someone at risk or breaks the law. Moderation decisions are logged.
Links to other sites
Posts may link to other websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices. A link is not an endorsement.
Copyright complaints
If you believe material on the forum infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@global100.org as described on the contact page. We respond to valid notices and may close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Availability
We aim to keep the forum available and fast, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, error-free or that content will never be lost. At times posting may be paused for maintenance or to deal with abuse while reading continues.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the forum is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Ending your use
You can stop using the forum and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date on this page, and for significant changes we will post a notice on the forum before they take effect. Continuing to use the forum after a change means you accept the updated terms.
